Light, Colour and Appearance

TASK FOUR: STUDIO FLASH

This task requires you to take 6 headshot photographs in the studio using the flash equipment. Each photograph must have a different style of lighting. Within your 6 pictures you must include:

·       At least one photograph with an entirely consistent black background

·       At least one photograph with an entirely consistent white background

·       At least one photograph that utilizes coloured gels

·       One photograph that uses a continuous/tungsten light as part of the set up.

All of your photographs must be composed like a conventional ‘headshot’ where the face takes up most of the frame. Try and keep as much as possible the same in each frame (model, pose, camera angle, focal length etc…) changing only the lighting.

Be aware of how you light your background as much as how you light your subject. Experiment with using the different light modifiers/accessories to create graduated backgrounds.

THIS TASK IS DUE IN TUESDAY 10 NOVEMBER
